Stuck at home with no idea what to do? Want a way to release your creative outlet? Making a collage is a great activity! It’s fun, versatile, and can be easily made with resources you already have nearby. Whether you want to create a representation of your life story, an inspiration board with a specific theme that sparks your interest, or have a visual of your future goals, collages are the perfect art project that serves many purposes!
First, you need to decide how large you want your collage to be and find a material you want to use as your base. This could be anything like cardboard, plastic, a piece of wood, or paper, although we recommend you using something a little sturdier than paper if possible. You’ll also need glue, magazines, pictures, small 3-D objects, and anything else you want to add to your visual. After collecting all of your necessary materials, here is when your imagination comes into play! Glue cut-out pictures to your base in any order you’d like. You can use paint, ribbons, rhinestones, words from magazines, and so much more. Set the collage aside and let the glue dry after you’re done covering the base. The possibilities are endless, every collage is original to its artist, and there’s no wrong way to create one! Once you have finished your unique collage, you can hang it up as decoration or as a reminder to yourself to achieve something in the future. We can’t wait to see your personalized collage if you choose to make one! Please submit your work under the “Get Involved” tab so others in the community can see your story and know more about you through your art. This is an activity that involves both parents and children!
You'll need: - Cardboard/Paper - Pen - Scissors - Notebook First, parents, you get your piece of paper and fold them into quarters which you will cut out. Then you will fold the quarter pieces into half. Draw a silhouette of an object and write words beside that are related to the object. Hint: you can draw the object with a pencil first, trace it with pen then erase it! Then you will place them over a page of your child's notebook. They will then use the space below to write a story about the object. Everyone has their own unique perspective so let their imagination run wild! Hello, I am Peter Pan. Today, I will help you to draw me! Do not believe that drawing is hard. Do not fear mistakes because you have an eraser. Here is how to draw Peter Pan!
